Died tragically while walking in the Tasmanian Wilderness with friends. Formerly of Bundeena, where he lived with his adored wife, BARBARA HOVING. Loving and gentle father of MICHAEL, REBECCA and MALCOLM, cherised Pop of LACHLAN and special friend of ROXANNE and PETER. Precious and perfect son of FRANK and SHIRLEY PAYLING of Valentine, treasured brother of TERRY, TIM and JUDE of Cooks Hill; loved uncle of JOEL, NONI and TARA. He will be missed by everyone who knew him; including his dearest friends and colleagues in Paris and Switzerland and the scientific community world-wide.
54 years young.

Mass of Celebration for DICK`S life will be held at St James` Catholic Church, Bundeena Drive, Bundeena SATURDAY March 6th, 2004 at 11am.
