Oh Fletch, I only just found out. I’m so sorry brother. Sorry I wasn’t able to be there for you. Sorry life was a struggle. I hope you’ve found peace. Melbourne Cups will always remind me of you. Fly high…
To the Fletcher family,
I was so saddened to hear of Craig’s passing. Please accept my sincere condolences.
I worked with Craig in the 1990s at St George Bank. I remember see him as being passionate about everything and anything: sport, work, politics, wine (a proud Cessnock boy), his company car and above all, getting things right. He was a perfectionist in the best sense of the word. Whatever he did, he certainly threw himself into it.
Craig was great fun to work with and loved a good prank. One of my favourite “Fletch” stories was when a young, floppy-haired Shore School Boy, think Hugh Grant in Four Weddings and a Funeral joined the team and promptly lit up a cigarette while working at his desk (yes, you could smoke in the office back then). Fletch quickly warned, “Don’t do that here the boss is a rabid anti-smoker, you won’t make it through probation. Best to smoke in the stairwell or outside.” This went on all week while the boss was on leave. When the boss returned, he called a team meeting and proceeded to chain-smoke the entire time. The looks around the room, the barely contained smiles by all in the know and the friendships that followed are something I’ve never forgotten.
We valued Craig’s passion, his humour and most of all his friendship.
Craig Rest in Peace
Vince
Condolences to all of Craigs family,
I too worked at St George with Craig, in the marketing department, early 1990s.
Infact, I was his admin assistant. Craig was precise, dedicated but very kind and fair.
We and the whole team shared many laughs, all to do with his marketing campaigns, especially the “cheque box deposit in branch” campaign.
Many of us from Vince Leats team are still in contact, we were an exceptional team, and Craig was part of our great team. Authentic and hardworking.
Rest peacefully Craig.

So sorry to hear of Craig’s passing. I have fond memories of working with him in the 90’s at StGeorge. Please accept my condolences.
We were so saddened to hear of Craig’s passing.
When Craig & I worked together on a project in the city, we would spend what seemed forever in the car getting through the traffic to head back South. Some days we laughed all the way home, some we went over the complexities of the day & some were in pure silence. That was Fletch!
Shame that so many years passed between those chats, hope he is now resting in peace
