A fundraising appeal has been established for Sergeant Geoffrey Richardson, 43 years old of Port Stephens LAC who died on Saturday evening when his police car crashed into a tree. Sergeant Richardson was providing assistance to his colleagues who were engaged in a pursuit. Sergeant Richardson leaves behind his widow, Senior Constable Margaret King, also a police officer and two young children.
