Beryl Mary Martin WHITELEY

Aged 93.
Mother of artist Brett Whiteley and writer Frannie Hopkirk.
Beryl passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of April 1st.
She was the benefactor of the “Brett Whiteley Travelling Scholarship” which she began in 1999, to give young artists of Australia the same opportunities as
her son. She was awarded “The Order of Australia” for her contribution to the Arts.
Beryl is survived by her daughter Frannie and seven grandchildren.
Family and friends of BERYL are warmly invited to attend her funeral service to be held at the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, New South Head Road, Rose
Bay, on Thursday (April 8, 2010), at 1.30 p.m.
