Aged 44 Years

Loving wife of IAN, mother to SARAH, step-mother of STEPHANIE, daughter of JANET and the late FRANK WILKES, sister of CHRISTINE STANBURY and IAN WILKES, sister-in-law of BRAD and LINDA, nana of KARLII, aunt of MATHEW, SHANE, ALEXANDRA and BRITTANY and friend to many. The Relatives and Friends of LYNN were invited to attend her Funeral  held in the North Chapel, Newcastle Memorial Gardens Beresfield Wednesday, 3/8/2005, commencing at 9.15am.

My mum always took all of my friends under her wing. My best friend and my sister`s best friend considered mum as a second mum. We all loved her dearly and are sad that she is gone but she is no longer in pain and at a better place. Although she has left the earth she still has a place in our hearts and always will.
Her daughter Sarah

We all love you and you will allways be with me.. And you will be MISSED
love allways Mathew..

I`ll always remember when I first met Lynn at Mum and Dad`s when Ian first brought me home to meet his family. Over the years my love for Ian`s family grew and I always considered myself as a woman with not just one sister, but with three. Lynn was, and always will be a big part of my life. When she had Sarah (our miracle baby), and I had Alex just eighteen months later, it seemed that our relationship took another level with shared motherhood of two baby girls. Lynn always made clothes for Alex and Britt`s `Baby Born` dolls as well as knitting bits and pieces for the kids. I always remember having a laugh with Lynny, that familiar cackle of hers I can hear even now. She and Christine are the older sisters I never had having come from a family where I am the eldest sibling. I always loved our family get-togethers at Mum and Dad`s, kids going everywhere, Dad shouting everyone a beer or a REALLY strong whisky andMum getting the caramel tarts organised. Learning all the stories about their youth from Chris, Lynn and Ian was always good fun. I`m missing you Sis. You`ll always be in my heart.Love always and forever,
Linda

Lynn was my godmother. She was a beautiful person. I remember many outings to Speers Point Pool where Lynn used to take Annette and I to the pool to teach us to swim. I remember many times being thrown in the water and told to swim back to the edge. I also remember hating it that much, that either Lynn or Chris would come and get me and take me back to the edge.I remember many birthdays before Shane, Matthew and Sarah where Lynn and Chris would come along and would eat all the lollies off my birthday cake. She used to always laugh about that, I must admit I didn`t mind, because when we were younger it wasn`t a birthday without Lynn or Chris there.I loved bumping into her at Kotara and hearing her familiar greeting “gday darl” and seeing that beautiful smile. The last time I saw Lynn before her diagnosis, was before xmas 04 and it was the first time she saw my daughter Abbey. She kept cuddling her saying how she looked like her mummy. The day of the funeral while looking at her photo, reminded me of many memories, but the one that I keep hearing over and over again, is Lynn`s laugh (or cackle as Linda described it). It is the one thing that will remain with me forever.Lynn you may not be here with us now, but you are forever in my heart, and I love you, and I wish I could thank you for the many memories that you gave me.Lots and lots of love,
Deanne

I had the pleasure of first meeting Lynn and Ian at Adamstown Primary School where our daughters Sarah and Jenna were in the same year of school. As the years past and the friendships grew for all of us, I can look back and remember many happy occasions we all shared with many of the other parents and fellow students. Lynn and Ian could be found in the Canteen working hard but always ready for a chat or laugh. Whether it be helping with the BBQ for the Homestay Visitors, supplying transport for students to attend different events, helping with the school fete to name just a few of the many times they volunteered their time and were on hand to help out and always with a smile and encouragement for everyone. They could nearly always be seen at the School Assemblies watching proudly as Sarah received awards, participated in a dance performance and in many other school activities. It was lovely to see them and many other proud parents support their children and their friends. As the girls moved onto to High School this year we were left with many fond memories of primary school days. Sadly Lynn you have left us all too early but our memories of you are still in our hearts. Thank you for the friendship you so freely gave to us all. We were indeed so fortunate to have had that.
Love Helen and Jenna
