Gene my young brother I am going to miss you. Now what am I going to do to fill in the day. No phone calls, Dr appointments, washing, scratching the back ,Going to Hexham Bowling Club for the raffles. One thing we have never done is to argue as they were our points of view on things. You had your moods but you ended up by saying *What ever you think is best Ginge*. I have Cheeky your bird and he will be cared for. I love you Gene. Missing you always love Lorraine (Ginge)
Love you Uncle Gene. I had fun with you when you werent sick and in hospital. Well mate wont be long and you will soon be with Mum and Dad. A nice sunny spot, red roses behind you and under a pink rose as mum loved. Over the times we will be all coming to join you so then its partytime again in the Masons household.
Always Remembered from Lorraine and Dianne your sister. x x x
Gene,
You fought a good fight towards the end of your dreadful illness.
We all thought you would be able to win yet another fight in your life.
You never gave up at anytime, as sick as you were.
As far as you were concerned it was not going to beat you, no way.
Unfortunately this was to be the toughest and the last fight in your life.
You won many battles in your life, but it was the war that you wouldn’t win mate.
You are going to be sadly missed by your two sisters, Lorraine who you always called Ginge, and your big sister Dianne.
Enjoy your journey lying beside your lovely mother, now you are no longer in pain Gene.
Your friend, Ian.
Sorry we didn`t get to say gidday to each other before you left this earth, as with your family and other friends, I mourn your passing and miss your cheeky grin and smart ass comments. Nugget said to say Hi, he`s grown a bit since you last saw him, passed the six foot marker and looks over me! It`s been great knowing you and spending some good times together, can`t ever remember any bad times. You have left as lasting legacy with all who knew you well. Go in peace my friend, we will meet beyong the blue horizon some day soon.
Your friend and old mate

Hard to believe that you left us ONE month ago.
I am still coming to terms that you are not in hospital again.
Little things pop up and brings back memories of things you have said and done throughout that short life mate.
Gene I always said I would look after you if the worse came to worse. Daileys and myself did that right to the end.
Rest now as you are not in pain anymore you are on that big quad in the sky racing around.
