Laurie was a proud lesbian who was one of the founding members of C.A.M.P NSW in the 60`s and also a 78er.
Laurie was born in Manjimup WA and moved to Sydney in her teens,she loved the freedom of the big city.Laurie worked for many years as a youth worker at a time when life experience was considered a valuable qualification,with a passion for Elvis that was matched only by her passion for women`s rights.
An injury at work left her unable to work any more and a legacy of pain for the rest of her life.
Laurie was a loyal friend to those she loved,always ready with a quick joke and a beautiful smile.Sadly Laurie felt unable to stay with us any longer.Laurie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
